The first appeal of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito was presided over by Judge Hellmann. In accordance with Italian law, he produced a "sentencing report" or "motivations report", detailing the court's rationale for its decisions. The report is available in Italian, The Hellmann Sentencing Report

A provisional translation was prepared by unpaid volunteers from PerugiaMurderFile.org to promote a better understanding of the circumstances surrounding the death of Meredith Kercher and the case against Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito in the English-speaking world.
