The Staged Burglary: The chosen window is next to the crime scene from the interior of the house, but from the exterior it is the most difficult climb, 13 feet straight up.

There are no scuff marks on the wall from muddy shoes or dirt on the floor, and the supposed burglar didn't bother to clear any shards off the window ledge before grasping.

Clothes were strewn about the room but valuables like electronics and designer handbags were left in plain sight. Items of clothing had glass on top of them, indicating the window was broken after the mess was made.

The only traces that anyone had been in the room are of Meredith's blood and Knox DNA, again indicating the simulation was carried out after the murder.

CaptionRaffaele's calls to the emergency number to report the burglary, blood, and locked door are not compatible with genuine calls to emergency responders.

Who returned to move Meredith?

The Bra Clasp

A piece of the bra was recovered during the second search of the house. On its hooks Sollecito's DNA was detected, a 15-point match (1 in 22 billion)

Claims of contamination or multiple additional contributors are based on including as alleles four peaks generally considered stutters. There is still the matter of a large amount of Sollecito's DNA in the sample. The independent experts appointed by the second court could not explain how only an item so burdensome for the defense would become contaminated, and could only offer that "anything is possible."

A knife recovered from Sollecito's kitchen drawer had Meredith's DNA on the blade and Knox's DNA on the handle

The profile is very faint but is a perfect match to Meredith. Again contamination could never be established. Upon learning of this lab result Sollecito offered that it was from accidentally pricking Meredith's hand while cooking together.

A partial bare footprint made in the victim's blood was found in the bathmat.

Its measurements are too stout to be compatible with Guede but are highly compatible with Sollecito.

Other footprints were discovered by treating the crime scene with Luminol.

They are in two sizes and compatible with Sollecito and Knox in size and shape. Some traces gave the genetic profile of Knox mixed with Meredith. The defenses have offered they could be a consequence of substances besides blood but did not specify which is more likely than blood.
